    Newcomer with a question

Hey everybody, I was just wondering if there's a good guide, readily available for rebuilding an m50b25 engine. This will be my first major mechanical undertaking and I'll need a bit of help. I've read that the haynes e36 manual has a good section on rebuilding the m50b25 has anyone had any experience with it or another source? thanks in advance!

Bently manuals are good, I've never had good luck with Haynes manuals.

I've got the bentley manual. I was just hoping for more pictures. As well as the names of items I'm removing. I want to build up a NA m50 but I dont know all the items I need.

Depends how much money you have. Got a lot? I would do
              S52 Crank
M52B28 Rods (i was told buy Gary at MM that they are the lightest options)
MM pistons (11:5.1 I believe is the highest you can go 93 octane, they're also very lightweight and you know what less rotational mass means)
              24lb injectors
3.0 or 3.5" intake setup (I think you would be good with a 3.0" MAF but, I don't tune cars so my guess is as good as any. Randy at Epic Tuning would be my go to guy on this)
              Dual valvesprings
              Titanium retainers
Port and polish w/ 3 angle valve job if you want
Cat cams 275/268 cams (any higher requires solid lifters)
              Single mass flywheel
              M3 clutch kit
              Underdrive pullies
              High flow coolant pump
80 degree tstat and fan switch (fan delete)
Turner shorty headers w/ custom mid

Again, this is what IIIII would do, others opinion may differ, I respect anyone else's opinion but, ultimately it's your engine, it's your car, it's your money, it's your hard work, do whatever makes you happy and enjoy it
