E39 sump for m52 swap ? Can it be done

Hello,

I have recently bought an e30 and want to do an m52 swap.

Have a full e39 m52 2.8 manual I am able to use for really cheap but all I can find is swapping the sump to an e34 sump ? An e39 has the same style front sump so can it be used.

V8 E39's have front sump, the I6 ones are rear..

that will be that then lol, seen a few photos and thought they where front sump until i looked again.

cheers anyway dont think i will bother unless i can get an e34 engine or cheap sump ?

what is it you all need to change, sump dipstick and oil pump ?

What about a e38 7 series sump ? They are front hump

Thinking outside the box as there is a premium on e34 sumps now.
