    Exhaust advice needed

    Hi everyone,

Need an advice on what to do with exhaust fumes on my track car. I have s50 swapped e30 I am only using for track fun. I run 3.5" exhaust set up. It is straight pipe all the way with vibrant muffler (yes it is loud but I love it :D ) problem is that I am getting a lot of exhaust fumes inside the car when I am on track with windows open. All of my interior is gutted so it is easy for fumes to get it. Also, my vibrant muffler tips are really short and barely clear rear valance. If I replace rear muffler with on of the Magnaflow or Flowmaster round mufflers with Angle cut tip going towards the ground, would push the exhaust fumes a bit further from the car?

I think the issue is probably caused by a seal somewhere (trunk or taillight seal maybe). I highly doubt that extending the tips a couple inches will make a significant difference. There is a large recirculation zone behind the car where the exhaust swirls around and around. If there are any leaks back there, the exhaust will get into the trunk and into the cabin. Extending the tips a couple inches will not get the exhaust out of this recirculation zone.

You got me thinking. I have one bad, rusted through spot in the trunk right above the muffler. I think this is the sport where fumes gets inside the car.
