    HELP! M52 exhaust manifold troubles

So did my research and after what i thought was the right thing to do I modified my rear header to clear the steering column. But after trying to fit them today Ive found they dont fit :( neither the front (standard) or rear (modified). Have a completely missed/done something wrong? Please help.

Wont let me upload pictures but what Ive done to the rear header is shortened all 3 runners (about 11mm) so that the bung screw on the top of the header is hard up against the flange that bolts to the block.

the thing is with the rear not only do you remove material you need to machine it on an angle (thats what i did). then weld it back together

angling towards the block? rough estimate of what angle you use? What did you do for the front header? cant fit mine onto the studs because it runs straight down into the steering rack. Havent found any info on needing to modify this

ahh couldnt tell you, i just eye-crometerd it. If you have an angle grinder just cut a "V" in the bottom of the manifold (underneath the runners) and bend it down, test fit, if all good then weld. easiest way to do it.

the fronts are bolt on just have to chop the down pipes and make custom ones, both front and rear. will get you pictures soon.
