Need tach signal output, OBDII E36 S52, for 84' 325e chassis

Hey guys and gals, looking for a proper tach signal output for using a factory 84' 325e cluster with a 98' OBDII S52 engine and wiring harness, tried using the pin #1 off the diagnostic plug, and the tach read high, also tried the pin #47 off the E36 ECU labeled as the "TD" signal output, also no luck there, Just mainly after the RPM signal output from the ECU or wherever I can grab it from to tie into the black wire on the C104 plug in the glove box, car no longer has the C101 connector also, thanks in advance

This is my car now. And I'm still having the tach issues. Any ideas guys?
