M50 coolant sensor

Ok guys I've done a lot of research but with the mix of different answers I think I'm confusing myself lol
there is two coolant sensors. One for the ecu and one for the cluster. The one I need is the ecu sensor. Is it a swap sensor or can I just use the blue sensor? I'm lost and trying to get my m50 swap running right. Thanks guys

You use the m50 sensor for the ecu and the brown top e30 sensor for the cluster.
