    Oil level sensor connections between C101 an X20

    If I understood correct in order to have the oil level sensor working on the e30 from the e36 harness
    Connect from the C101 to the X20 harness
    C101 = X20
    Pin 2 = Pin 3
    Pin 10 = Pin 1
    What about the third ground wire?

      Are you talking about the ground wire from the oil level sensor? You just ground that wire to the engine or chassis (find an existing ground connection and tie into it). It doesn't run through the C101/X20.

          On my Eta with the square plug, Pin 2 (ylw/blu) is the static oil level wire and Pin 15 (grn/purp) is the dynamic oil level. I used the wiring out of an E34 and ran it through the stock harness. On the E34 wiring, the blu/wht wire is static and the dynamic is blu/grn. Brown is ground which i grounded to the rest of the engine harness.

          I know this doesn't help you OP, but maybe it will help someone else in the future.

            Update-
            Just found out that my harness is an e36 (not an e34) therefore I will have to create two wires that connect the oil level sensor from the (e34) oil pan senor to the wires on my harness and connect accordingly. Is this the correct way of doing it? independent wire loom from the oil pan sensor to the harness corresponding wires. What wire size should I use?

                I did that. I ran separate wires up to c101/x20. It doesnt need super heavy gauge wiring.
