    e36 OBD1 harness cutting instructions

    can i cut the auto transmission computer connector
    also which wires do i cut out,




    is this x20 connector for the auto trans?

    All of em. Pull em out of harness. One or two go to ecu connector just tape em off.

      so where should i start cutting from the secondary x20 ?
      and do they just slide out ?

        Your gonna end up taking the box apart just get it over with and then you can pull out everything from the connector back to the DME plug

          Yeah take cover off the harness box. Cut auto trans plug and start pullingthe wires to track em down. Cut them out.

            AUTO TRANS PLUG as in the secondary x20 ?

              Yes. Its not called x20 its something else. Anyway make sure you have the right one. Cut it off.

                Yep, once you open the box, it will be very straightforward. As mentioned there are a few wires that go to the ECU that will be left over. I just individually capped them off.
