Things to delete when swapping an s52?

I'm in the process of swapping an s52 into my car. The motor has been converted to obd1. Im wondering what I can remove from the engine bay while the motor is out. I don't need AC so that is coming out and I'm going to use a late model reservoir so I can take my current reservoir out. Is there anything else that I can remove?

For those that have removed AC, is there a safe way to do it?

I plan on keeping power steering for the time being. Do I use the m20 pump on the S52, or do I use the s52 pump?

Also, is there anything from the m20 that I'll need to use on the s52? I think there is a brown top thermostat sensor that I'll need but not sure if there is anything else.

Welcome to the 24v club :) I also converted to OBD1

    1) You're right about the brown m20 temp sensor.
    2) The s52 PS pump has the bracket that should mount to the e34 oil pan...so I would stay with the s52 pump.
    3) I kept AC, so I cant comment on the AC part lol.
    4) I used an m20 radiator. To bleed the coolant system, I just removed the overflow hose that runs to the late model reservoir. I connected a clear hose and then ran the car and made sure that there were no more air bubbles.

doesn't the m20 coolant temp sensor have to be rethreaded to fit the port on the 24v block?

I think I'll just buy a new one that has been rethreaded. One less thing to worry about. Do you happen to know a vendor that sells them?

Mitch, your build thread is great. I'm also building a fair weather/track car so your thread is very helpful.

You do use the S52 power steering pump. You don't have anything to worry about with the a/c removal assuming that the system isn't charged (a lot aren't). If it is charged you can go to a shop and have them remove the freon.
