    Couple random questions

    1.

If anyone has a peake code puller maybe you would know this.

When I pull codes it gives me "FF" as my car model, the book thats that means it cant determine the engine through the code reader. I am supposed to look it up manually. I dont know which exact model I should be looking at. I have a s52 with OBDI, but everything under "m3" is listed under the K5 table. I keep getting code 24 (IIRC) for the speedo sensor. But it is all hooked up? Im not having any issues with it how I used to. I looked on the K6 table, and 24 is listed as a knock sensor. Which one is it??

    2.

I have a conforti chip in my car, I was under the impression that I would still get a rev limiter if I went high enough. I was stomping on my car a while back and since my tach is incorrect I was just going to let it go until my rev limiter kicked on so I could see where it all lined up. But I can push it so far up in the RPMS the engine almost stops. I can feel the power just quit on me, like riding a bike and someone just jammed a stick in your front wheel lol. I hope I didnt break anything.

my conforti chip has a rev limiter at 7000RPM for my '95 s50 motor.

your pulling codes from a 413 ecu. table k5 for all 413 ecu's. where did you get your speed reference signal from? without the road speed signal, the ecu maps fuel / rpms differently (and doesnt actuate vanos.)

      cheers, jason

Yeah, I had it fixed. I had a really early rev limiter and I could hardly drive the car. I ran the wire and I could tell an immense difference in the engine, it seemed to run fine. I dont have any issues that seem to be related to the engine speed, I just get the code for some odd reason. Maybe its coming momentarily disconnected?

I got the wire from the green plug on the back of the ECU, yellow/blue IIRC, to the black wire pin 41 IIRC on the ECU.

not sure what IIRC is, or where there's a green plug on the back of the ecu. however, the speed signal goes through the c101 on the late e30 (and m3's) for future reference. cheers, jason

IIRC = if I remeber correctly

My speedo signal does not go through the c101, its it the early model

im talking about the speed reference signal (signal that goes from speedo/obc that goes to the ecu).....its different than the speedo signal (from diff to speedo). the speed reference signal is found in the c101 (for e30's) and the x20 (for e36's) cheers, jason
