Does anyone know how much you can space up the engine on swapped cars? I read somewhere 5/8 but I'm not sure about interference with the hood?

what are you trying to clear? assuming you are using m5 mounts or some other type or "stud" mount you can space it to the top of one stud without any problems, mine is spaced that much (maybe half an inch) and doesnt rub the hood insulation. i had to do it to clear the factory booster after moving it over the half inch already. i just used steel washers which some may think is ghetto or cheap but i can adjust it up an down in increments if i ever need to.
if you mean to move it up to avoid buying a skid plate, dont, that 5/8ths inch isnt going to save your oil pan.BroWorks.com Bro is a lifestyle -
It is to save the oil pan. 5/8" will make a huge difference in clearance. At least until I can find someone that makes custom pans...what are you trying to clear? assuming you are using m5 mounts or some other type or "stud" mount you can space it to the top of one stud without any problems, mine is spaced that much (maybe half an inch) and doesnt rub the hood insulation. i had to do it to clear the factory booster after moving it over the half inch already. i just used steel washers which some may think is ghetto or cheap but i can adjust it up an down in increments if i ever need to.

I had to shim up the passenger side only, about 1/2", to give clearance for the downpipes against the subframe. No clearance issues between the engine and the hood (and I have the oem heat shield in place).Comment
