I know it's a really generic question, but I'm moreso looking for a current market value. The listings I've seen so far seem to vary between $2-3k, but there's typically a big difference between how much people list things for and what they actually sell for :D
How much did you guys pay for your S52s?

I would say 1-2k is a reasonable ballpark for a used s52 unless it has something special going for it.Shawn @ Bimmerbuddies

Damn. I'm going to look at a m3 sometime this week with the intent of it eventually being a v8 swap car. The dude's asking $4k, but the body and interior have seen better days. I'm not really trying to spend more than $1500ish on an e36, hopefully I can get him down into the low 3's, then it'll be worth it once I sell the s52+transComment

I got mine for $2k with trans, wiring harness, ECU, and all accessories.Comment

Would any of you consider it a "plus" if the donor car was an automatic? With the assumption that since it was an auto it probably wasn't beat to death like the 5spd cars? Because it's an auto. Doubt I'll be able to sell the auto for more than $100 but it is what it isComment

Just picked mine up for $1300, though it's missing some parts. (MAF, ECU, beauty cover)Comment

Oh well, didn't end up picking the car up... major POS. Dude had grazed a guardrail on the passenger side (fender, both doors and quarter panel were affected), the headliner was gone, the seats were torn up, needed an axle, control arms, all bushings were shot, tires were bald, front bumper was held on with self tapping screws and held together with zip ties, an unbelievable brake pulsation, passenger side wheels were curb rashed like a motherfucker, check engine light was on, kinda idled like shit, the heat wasn't working (i think maybe the heater control valve), the PS pump was screaming... and I'm sure there's more I've forgotten.
The guy was asking $4k for the car. Looked up part costs on the spot and came up with roughly $2k just to pass MD state inspection... that wasn't including body work, missing interior pieces or the heat. Dude got reeeaaaally salty when I offered $2k, which all things considered I thought was fairly generous. I fucking hate craigslist carsComment
