    24v swap with m20 airbox

    Hey guys,

I been reading on how a few guys are using a m20 airbox with their 24v swap. This is the setup I would like to go with. Seems straight forward beside mounting of the maf to the intake. My guess is a adapter will be needed? Anyone shed some light on this as I have yet to get ahold of a stock m20 air box.

It's a touch more involved than that, you need to cut and reshape the bottom of the airbox to clear the 24v alternator setup.

You'd be better off to try to fit the 24V airbox into your E30 engine bay.

You would need to have 60 amp alternator, then mod the bottom. What I did, I cut the part of the bottom and riveted in a license plate to prevent hot air coming from engine bay into the box. Then Adaptor from air box to MAF has to be made. I found out that velocity stack from 1994 525i air box works, then just cut out E30 airbox and secure in E34 maf velocity stack inside box. I made one out of 3" pipe instead.
