how do I install an convertible cable mgmt housing on my coupe

I have a coupe and I'm trying to install the back part on the cable mgmt to the vent access lid but the existing studs do not align and or the holes on the back of the cover
So let me know how you adjusted to fit

On my '84, I had to drill a few new holes in the plastic housing to match the studs on the HVAC fan cover.
