M52B28 - OBD1 or OBD2 - Which Management System and Tuner To Use

First off, yes, I know its been covered many times. I've read most of those threads to the point where I don't really know what's best.

Currently, the car has a M50B25TU (Vanos) with a cracked block. So, I already have everything (minus the chip) in order to run the car with OBD1 management. Also, I have a complete 1997 528i as my M52 donor.

Basically, my question(s) is this: What should I use, being that I have both management systems? I like the idea of having the OBD2 diagnostic capabilities, but some make OBD2 seem like a large hassle. Also, depending on which system I wind up using, who should I use for an ECU flash/Chip? I just need some advice after reading countless threads on OBD1 vs OBD2.

Typically speaking if you already have the M50 stuff most people stay obd1 although its arguable that its the best choice. Im obviously biased in many ways. ;)
