m50 thoughts

ok guys, i have a guy that has an m50 in his 325i right now, he gave me the price of 1500can for the whole swap, including all accessories and transmission, new water pump, clutch, pressure plate, starter, alternator.

he will deliever it to me which is about a 3 hour drive.

the motor has about 200k kms on it

he stated something about the head, so i may have to rebuild the head, no biggie for me (2nd yr mechanic)

i know ill need to pick up some parts like

the motor will come with the throttle cable
e34 M50 Oil pan
e24/e28 M30 3.5L Engine mount
e21 320i Brake Booster

what else do i need for this swap? and do you think i should pick it up?

i dont know if thats a good deal or not. Seems steep for a m50. Dont know what the market in canada for that is though.

oh also, what happens with the exhaust, i dont think stock 325e exhaust would bolt up?

i think it's a good price- but,depends on the condition of the motor though....i pieced my swap and so far i think i'm about close to a $1000 this using my original e30 tranny...next expense is the exhaust,i'm presently bolting everything up w/ a new clutch and lightened flywheel...
