    Issue with Alloy Mounting arm.

Hi I'm using a m50 out of a 92 525i e34. I'm putting my e36 mounting arms on at the moment and have run into this problem. My left e34 mount sit's directly over the oil dipstick and tube. I mean it runs right through the middle of the left. I have undone the tube brace but still can't get the dipstick tube undone to get the e34 arm off. Has anybody run into this problem before. I'm the only person in new Zealand doing this swap and have used the r3v limited dohc thread for resource. any help would be greatly appreciated. I'll try get some photos up asap.

    Thanks

    Gary

try to pull the dipstick tube out to free the arm. The dipstick tube is just pressed in with a rubber o-ring. It may be snug, but you just have to pull it out.

I had the same problem. I just cut a slot in the mounting arm and pulled it out without of disturbing the dipstick.
I wans't going to use the arm anyway and was afraid of ruining the tube or starting a leak.

Keep up the good work in NZ,
      Avner.

i just ran into that issue last week-just pull the dipstick up and replace the o ring when re installing it-new o ring from the dealer was less than a dollar or source them from a autoparts store....post pics after the swap and goodluck:-)
