    Swapped e30 with e36 exhaust?

Couldn't really find any good or descriptive threads on thus. I'm running an s52 in my 90 325i and I'm looking for exhaust setups. I came accross this setup which seems great for price

I've heard of multiple people fitting an e36 exhaust onto an e30 with slight modification but the necessary modification doesn't seemed to be discussed. My question is what all needs to be done to have proper e36 exhaust fitment on an e30 and what do you all think about this vac motorsports kit.

E36 exhaust is too heavy, must be cut and repositioned, it is a mess. VAC exhaust is too expensive.

        So what would you recommend?

You can use E36 M3 resonators and some E36 cat-backs, but not the whole setup. I have an AA cat-back on mine; the rest was all custom fabbed. It's extensively detailed in Lola's build thread.

I've bolted up a completely unmodified e36 downpipe/cat section and a UUC Corsa cat-back as an extremely temporary solution, but it does not fit well. The downpipes sit about 3" lower than they could/should, and the exhaust's exit interferes with the spare tire well and cutout in the rear valence of the car.

Thanks for the advise so everyone is mostly running a custom setup there's no pre-made setup?

I'm running an e36 S52 midpipe section with an E36 Stromung catback, had to do minimal massaging to the tire jack compartment area to get it to fit, but I'm very happy with the fitment, lines up great with the cutout in the rear apron on a late model and doesn't hang too low.

No, the Raceland 2 piece headers.

Im running Raceland headers as well. US OBD1 S50. Cost a pretty penny but I used euro spec E36 M3 Supersprint resonators and rear racing muffler section from Turner. Bolted right up to the headers and had no problems hanging it under the car. Slight tilt out of the back though due to shitty header fitment but it is what it is I suppose. The hardest part was source euro spec gaskets...

I tried to bolt up a full header back e36m3 assembly - headers, midsection, muffler - and found that it fit unacceptably poorly. Even with some "bending, denting, or cutting" it still wouldn't have fit well, and then I would've cut up and ruined a perfectly good midsection and muffler. It also weighs a ton.
