    Stupid Vert - M52/OBD1

Hey guys - need some help on this one.. Kinda kicking my ass.

Picked up a friends unfinished project (always a good idea) for a great price, finally getting around to the point where I can try to start it, but it won't! It's an 87 325ic, rebuilt m52, sunbelt "stage 2" cams, Vortech V2 blower, OBD1 converted - stock injectors and stock tune at the moment. The previous owner had the car running briefly with only the bare essentials hooked up. It turns over pretty strong, but will not fire. I don't think I'm getting spark or maybe weak/intermittent spark. Pulled plug #1 and tested on the VC bolt and it looked like nice hot spark to me, but that's hard to say for sure. It had 5 year old gas in it when I bought it, drained that and dumped 5gal of fresh 91 octane in.

Fuel pressure is right at 60psi, crank pos sensor tests fine with multimeter, ECU confirmed to be fine on an e36, ground(s) should all be okay, new starter, new battery - what else am I missing that could kill it?

    Early models do it better.

The first thing I did when I thought I wasn't getting spark was to put a multi meter on the plug that goes into the coilpacks. It should cycle from 0 to 2.5v as you turn the car over.

If you don't own a good multimeter yet, now would be a great time to invest.
      No antenna? I sell plugs!

Green tops. Red label ECU w/stock chip.

I can do that. Good call. I do have a decent multi.

Found chassis-side mouse related wiring issues. This was a side project anyways and I'm out of time/patience to work on it - part out!
