    Price Check?

    Hey R3v,

    A quick question regarding worth...

Any idea on what a well done E30 prepared S50 swap would be worth on here? I am just curious on what i could expect to get out of it should I ever want to upgrade to an S38... The engine is fully E30 prepped, Wiring done be Markert Motorworks, oilman all set, engine mounts all set, driveline, trans, diff, cooling system, etc. Basically its a fully done, no corners cut S50 swap with some mods here and there (mishimoto, 3.5 MAF, JBR flywheel/clutch, TMS chip, etc.). What would the entire package be worth? I have a lot invested in everything, much more than I have listed, but just looking for people opinions. Also, what might the entire car as a whole be worth too if I sold the car the way it sits? Again, nothing is for sale here, I am just curious since I am toying with upgrading either the engine (S38) or the Chassis (E46 M3). Post your thoughts, thanks R3v! Link to the cars "write up" is below.

Edit: Also not sure if this is the best place to be posting? My apologies if not...

I've been doing a lot of research lately, as I'm piecing together my m52 swap at the moment. You can expect to get anywhere from 3000-4200 for all swap parts, depending on how you package it. You'd probably be better off selling the swap without the mods (3.5 MAF, flywheel, etc)

My M52 swap is going to end up costing a little north of 4.5k for all new swap parts (mounts, odds and end, wiring merge, etc), completely resealed motor, and used ZF tranny. Obviously the s50 is a superior motor, but now that you've installed it with all the swap parts all the swap parts are worth less.

Depending on your preference it might be smarter to just sell the car as a whole and find a new chassis to build. Most swapped cars I've seen sell from 7-11k depending on miles and parts included.

I'm not an expert, but the prices have really bottomed out on 24v swaps.

Yea I have noticed. I have significantly more than that into it, but i realize Ill never get back a lot of that money. Looking at my spreadsheets for the cars entire build thread I'm into it about 18k, just in the swap and parts components, but i haven't skimped on anything. Its all been top of the line stuff.

The region is going to also be a factor in pricing. If you were in California with a BAR legal swap then it's a better value and more money would be had.

If you just want to sell locally, try Craigslist at a higher price and slowly lower it to see how many bites you get.
