Does anyone know a good source for a 2.93 limited slip diff for my swap?

This forum. Not many people want these diffs so they go for pretty cheap. Unless they sold i belive there are two of these for sale in the for sale section. Just look under the last couple days.
What is your setup going to be?

That is friggin cheap, not the most popular ratio, but usually gets at least 150-200.

I was going to offer to pull one for you here in Oregon, I know where one is. But 90$ is better than what I'd want. Get it.

I am actually looking for a 3.25, possibly higher, I have a 2.93 lsd though if you are interested, unfortunately I cant sell it for $90; $210 and its yours though. You would have to wait until the 12th if interested, as I am out of the country and would have to pull it when I got back

m52_e30, you should look on the FS section of http://www.mye28.com

Those guys have 3.25 lsd's that they like to unload for very reasonable prices. You'll have to swap rear cover and output flanges (search for details), but it's the best place to look. They also like to use the 3.73lsd found in some 325i's, so if you have one of them you might also be able to trade.

are you running an E36 tranny? 293 is a bit tall.
                Im now E30less.

our diffs are incompatible with the e36

My set up is a 1993 stroked m50 [3 liter] with the e36 trans. It's all done and with the stock diff [3.73] first is not even needed and the rpm at highway speed are a bit high in 5th. previously I used the link posted on this site to check diff ratios and speeds etc. and I came to the conclusion that the 2.93 would be best. It is a bit of a toss-up between the 2.93 and 3.15 because the 3.15 is what the e36 has [I think]. I am definatly interested in your diff from the 325es. Is it a limited slip?

I think most people using the e36 tranny with the m/s5x swaps prefer the 3.25lsd, at least based on what I've read here.

I do alright with the 2.93 diff but the gears are to tall. They dont really affect me much as some of you can tell by the videos i have posted against e46 m3's. Unfortunately lately i have only been staying door to door with E46 M3's and not walking them in 2nd and 3rd like before due to some problems i have not pin pointed.
I would recomend a 3.15 or 3.25 , even a 3.46 would be good if you upgraded to heavier larger diameter rims like 17''s
