    Weird Startup and Running issues

    Hey guys,

    I've been experiencing some issues with my S50 Swapped 91 318is. Previously the car would not start, only crank. I rectified the problem by changing the DME to a 506 with a TMS S50 Chip. The car then started, only to die after I gave it gas. I noticed a massive vacuum leak in the Air Intake Rubber boot, and swapped it out for a new one. I started up the car again, it idled nicely around 1000. When I try to drive the car though, it will die after 20 seconds of light driving, or if i push it hard. Heres the catch though, The car will only start and stay idling if I wait an hour or so to start it again. If I try to start it right after its died, it isnt able to start.

    Im assuming its either an electric problem or a fuel issue.. Its got a new fuel pump though.

    Any ideas ?

    To sum it up... the Car only starts if wait an hour or so to start it. Once I do, it idles nicely but dies when I try to drive it.

    Where is the stock chip for the 506? Start with that, then report back.

    Will the car run at all when at temperature?

      I ended up covering a dime sized vacuum leak, banging up on the fuel pump a bit.. and now the car will fine... once i try to drive it around it dies.. but if I start up right after again it will roughly start.. before it wouldn't at all.

      I dont have the stock chip for the 506, however the TMS chip is an s50 chip for stock mods

        Anymore ideas ?

        Fuel filter and Pump are good so that shouldn't be it..

          UPDATE


          I decided to pull the fuel pump and check it out to find it is some crappy branded 318is pump, I figured it may not be pumping enough fuel. I swapped it for a Walbro 255 and Voila the car started and ran continuously up and down the road....

          NEW ISSUE.... The car drives at low output, but once I try and push it past 3k it just doesn't want to, it'll just get weak and not want to get any faster... could this be the chip? or more fuel issues

            I had a similar issue and it was cracked coil boots. It would be fine until 4k and then it would break up and had no power.
