just try it out if its in your possession. if not you would need some spot on measurements to know if it will fit exactly. it will definately fit either way as its only metal and can be cut and welded. depends on how much work you wanna do if it doesnt line up as is.

Thanks for the input. Unfortunately they're not in my possession and they're sold. I think I'm going back to the e36 obdii cat idea... Can anyone confirm that e36 325 and m3 obdii cats are the same?Comment

E36 325i cats are the same as '95 M3 cats, both OBDI, and have a 2 into 1 collector after the manifold down pipes and has the single o2 sensor port before it splits back into 2 pipes for the cats and back to the rear.Originally posted by Rev EngineerCan anyone confirm that e36 325 and m3 obdii cats are the same?
E36 328i are the same as '96+ M3 cats, both OBDII, and are dual pipe all the way. The 2 o2 sensors ports are in the exhaust manifolds, so there is no provision for one o2 sensor to read 100% of the exhaust gases, and then there are 2 o2 ports after the resonators for the 'after-cat' o2 sensors.
