m50 swap manual shifter issue

I just picked up this 89 325 with a m50 swap. Car was originally auto but it was switched to manual. Im not sure which trans is in there. To put the car in reverse (left and up) you really have to push the shifter against the center console to where its actually moving the console out of place to the left. Any fixes for this?

Probably has the g260 but the selector rod and carrier have been twisted too far
