Do S52US cams fit in the M50 engine? I've seen conflicting posts in Bimmerforums.

Why not use S50 cams as they are OBD 1 compliant and seem like less of an issue. -
S52 cams seem to come up more often for sale.Comment

I'm running S52 cams in my M50. The thing is, there is a counterweight of sorts cast into the camshaft that hits the HVA carrier. You have to either upgrade to M/S52 HVA's and carriers or go the cheap route like I did and clearance your HVA carrier between each pair of HVA's(with a carbide bit on a die grinder). I took pictures, I'll resize them and add them later if you need to see....
