I've decided to bail on going forward with a s52 swap on my e30 m3, and stick with the s14. Parts list below.

Feeler on a s52 with fresh head gasket with obd2 harness/ecu 1,850.00

If someone is interested in the entire setup with s52 price would be 2,500. Engine has alternator, ac compressor, power steering pump, and starter installed on it.
