What is the amperage on the 318i alternator.... 120A or 80A? i'm doing a favor for a friend and will change it. Is it difficult to do?

I dont know, but it shouldnt matter. I had a cruddy valeo 80amp one on my s52 and I got a 120amp bosch one for $50 thats on there now. Its not difficult at all.
Just take the serpentine belt off, and theres 2 bolts that hold the alternator in. One is under the pully and you have to pull the plastic cover off.
