My E39 528i Swap...

Evening fellow humans, Love this forum and this is my first post..

and also my first BMW

I bought a 89' 320i E30 for next to nothing two months ago and started stripping it, while I source for parts etc ..I am busy reconditioning the engine bay
I have acquired almost all the parts

but I am left with a few questions and since this is my first bmw and only my 2nd car i am building, I think making a post about it could help find answers...

My first question is... Will my e39 528i Engine control arms fit my e30, or will I need to get e36 328i engine control arms?

You are going to need the e36 arms. I have the same motor going in my car from an e39 and was curious about the same thing. From my research the arms are different. You also may need a different fuel rail with an integrated fuel pressure regulator depending on the year car your motor came from. Mine had no integrated FPR as the model year '98 used some sort of lossless valve. You might consider getting yourself an m50 manifold and fuel rail while you are at it. You will pick up some power with proper tuning that way anyways.

I bought e36 engine arms, crank sensor and waterpupm pulley today,
just need engine mounts and e34 oilpan+pickup and ecu which is all been delivered so i wait.....

my motor is out a 97' and it has a little silver valve thingy at the end of the fuel rail
