Hey guys, haven't been on on the forums in over a year. After getting rid of my e30 and e34 I got an e46 then e36 and currently an s13. Long story short, got another e30 project now, one owner 89 bronzit sedan, bone stock stupid clean for a steal but the M20 has lost compression and its an autotragic. Going to sell my 240 soon and invest back into the e30. I have found a steal on an S52 block but was wondering if I could run an M50tu head? My original intentions were to build an M50 stroker using a cheap M54b30 rotating assembly I found, and using its ZHP intake cam (broke mans S50 lol). Would I be better off going M50 stroker or could I make an S52 block work with an M50 head? Really want to keep the swap obd1 and make use of the cheap M54 zhp parts I can buy but would love to run the S52 block. And here are some pics of the new beauty :)

update: Got a zhp m54 intake cam, and m54b30 pistons. Picking up the donor e36 next week. Motor is a 94 m50b25tu. Getting a cheap m54 long block and will use the crank and rods from that. From my understanding the m54 cam should fit in the m50 vanos head with the 5mm regrind from its end? Next step is to get the e34 m50 sump and dipstick and order the m52 oil deflector. Will be changing all gaskets on the M50, motor does have 200k but is very healthy. What are some must do's for the rebuild before I drop it into the car?
