    M50 Frankenmotor

Looking for advice on the M50 that I'm building...

I have a M50TUB28 stroker motor that I rebuilt using stock M50 pistons and the crank and rods out of a M52 2.8L. It should have a 11.2-11.3:1 compression ratio and it has S52 cams. It will also have a custom intake with air box, and a full 2" dual exhaust with Ebay headers, Borla resonators, and a Borla muffler.

Are there any other upgrades that I should consider?
    Injectors? MAF? Etc?

Also, I know that I'll definitely need software. Do you have any suggestions about who would be the best for this? I was thinking Miller WAR chip and then getting it tuned after I break in the engine, but I'm totally open to other options/opinions.

Does anyone know what power this combo will make? I haven't been able to find much info. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you have the option you should consider keeping m52 pistons and using an m54b30 crank, this will give you the same compression of 11.3 but will give you a bigger displacement of 3.1L.

Also I believe you can use an m30b35 maf of larger size.

I think with your combo you might be able to reach 230 hp with a well sorted exhaust. I am building a 3.1L (check my build thread :D ) and am hoping to reach 240 hp!

mm what. Not a single thing that would be correct in this post :D

Using m52b28 pistons will give only 3litre displacement and about 15:1 compression ratio. If those pistons would have room to rotate.

M30 is so ancient engine that it even doesn't have MAF. It has old style AFM which sucks. But for CMBusch you could run m52b28/s52 MAF and injectros and it will be fine. But of course ecu will need retune. Euro s50 maf would be also one choice but it will not give any noticeable benefit.

With s52 cams and b28 crank it will give 230 crank hp easily. Maybe 240 if tuned right. For tuning I would swap to ms41 from m52 and use RomRaider to tune it. but well in that case it would have been easier to just start from m52b28 engine :D

Hahaha okay I did get a couple things wrong but for the most part what I stated I believe to be correct...

I agree about using the M54 crank with M52 pistons being above deck, I meant using the entire m54 rotating assembly will lead to the above 3L displacement and ~11.5:1 compression.

I think I am not correctly remembering which car the MAF I pulled and am using for my swap came from.

Hey guys, thanks for the input!

Metallated - I was originally going to just rebuild the stock M50. The stoker parts became available to me through a friend for cheap, and the extra displacement and higher compression seemed like a waste with just M50 cams. I'll definitely check out your build thread though!

pazi88 - Lol thanks for answering all my question throughout this build. Would the M52B28/S52 MAF and injectors provide a legitimate benefit, or would they be necessary?

How would I do the swap from the 413 to the ms41?
