Lower steering shaft

Hey, my lower steering shaft is rubbing on my m50 headers. Not enough to stop me driving but enough to feel it when turning left..
How much could I grind/file off the actually joints to stop it hitting? I don’t really have $300 to spend on a new shaft or universal joints at the moment so want to try and work with what I have for the moment.

I’ve clearances the headers abut but don’t really want to clearance them Any more.

I’m going to do an e36 rack swap so thought I’d sort it all out once

e36 rack swap moves some things around. Not sure if you've swapped it in or not yet but I would swap the rack in and then figure out clearance. Cant give you and hard info because I'm from the states but good luck.
