E30 S50B30 Euro conversion, wont start

    hi folks

ive just converted my e30 to S50 but wont start, the only pin with power on the E30 20 pin plug, when ignition on, is pin 13( fuel pump) no power to ecu, starter rely, ignition etc etc

does anyone have any thoughts that can point me in right direction ?

does the E 30 have a factory imob that needs bypassed ? only thing that doesnt add up is the e30 had a m52 fitted when i bought it that started on the key with no imob or anything

    any help appriciated

    cheers

What year car do you have? It's possible that the c101 diagram you used to splice into your engine harness doesn't match up with your cars harness.

The E30 does not have an immobilizer from the factory. However, it's possible that the M52 swap had EWS retrofitted.

Does the car crank, or is there no start signal at all?

Actually the 10 button OBC does have an immobilizer and I ran into that issue with my S52 swap, since I had installed a euro clock. It would crank but not fire. But that seems super rare, I only found one other person ever had that same issue.

We need more details like nrubenstein said, does it crank but not fire, not crank at all, power to the gauges, etc.?

If the engine doesn't crank and/or no power to ecu, it's just faulty wiring, because those come directly fron ignition switch. Just use multimeter to hunt down where the problem is.

You need to verify your pinout on the c101 engine harness plug. The Euro motor is different than the North American ones. What year car did the motor come from and what year/model e30 did it go into?
