    S52 Swap exhaust question

what type of exhaust manifolds can you use.

The shorty's that came with motor don't fit and the super sprint headers don't fit too.

    Thanks!

Give Turner a call, they have a set of shorty headers that are modified to fit an e30s5X swap. They are a bit pricey, but were "worth" it (for me at least). If paying almost $1k for @10hp is "worth" it to you, then check them out. The sound is freaking sweet. Here's a quick clip of my totally custom exhaust system before the competition headwork, valves, porting, polishing, etc... was done. It's even meaner and louder now. Parked cars with their alarms on are my favorite things to drive past :D

Cool, thanks for the 411, that thing sounds sick.

get a set of eyeball arms, you can use a stock e36 exhaust setup all the way back.

Mine still hits the front subframe or sway bar, can't remember.

The eyeball arms are critical though.

i'm hearing conflicting stories, some say you need the eyeballs and some say the stock lolipops will work without modification

I have S52 headers/E36 mid-pipe and the TR eyeballs, but still had issues with the front subframe. I had the exhaust shop do a little "up and over" so I could mate up with the front manifold.

it hits the swaybar when the car is up on a lift, as the swaybar pivots up. As far as the subframe, if you are using no spacers on the motor mount, you will need to jack the side of the motor up to slide the downpipes on, but they wont hit the subframe once tightened down, unless something is jacked up. the easy way to fix this is to use a small spacer on the passenger side. however you then have to check to clearance for the reservoir and TPS.

My brake reservior is on the strut tower, so that isnt an issue. I think I need a little spacer under the exhaust side motor mount, a la orca.
