    brake bleeding problem

when I try to bleed my brakes my brake pedal sounds like it is hitting something metalic half way down and I am not able to get any air or fluid out of the lines. Any ideas? It is supposed to go into the muffler shop in the morning I guess I'll just send it in without brakes. Thanks

The pedal will go to the floor if the bleed screw on the bottom of the master cylider is loosened. But even after bleeding the mc the problem does not get any better

Follow the linkage from pedal to MC and see if somethings hitting. Your MC might be bad, but I don't recall ever hearing of one that made a metallic sound mid stroke.

You sure the vacuum line is hooked up right? Mine was reversed and made a strange noise but it was hard but they didn't bite.

thanks, I put it in this forum since I was using a 320i booster with e e30 master cylinder. Only m/s50 people are familiar with this combination.

Obviously you have modified the booster? How was the shaft shortened? It could have something to do with that. Other than getting a bum booster my first go around, I haven't had any issues using a 320 booster.
