Someone who has used the e34 M50 harness, step in..

Just a quick question, and it seems that this is only on the e34 harness ('93 525i in my case) for my swap.

Anyhow, the e34 has its main relays inside the "e-box" in the engine bay with the DME and other modules. The relay holder has three relays on it, but also has a fourth connector piece next to them.

This piece has lugs on both sides. On the e34, the bottom had a fairly large red (power) wire going down into the chassis someplace, toward the back. The top has another solid red wiring going into the engine-side wiring harness.

Before I tear this harness apart to make sure this is/isn't something I need to hook up to power (like ABS or something), any of you know what it is for?

The red wire on the right.

Main DME power wire. Goes to the battery distribution block on the firewall, to the small wire, located just above the large battery cable (fuseable link).
