My brother has a 1995 M3 with a leaky head gasket. He has decided to just swap in a lower mileage engine. He told me that if I wanted to pay the $750 core I could have the old engine plus whatever parts were on the core when it arrived. I am thinking if the core arrives with the intake on it and maybe the exhaust manifold I will jump on it. Any advice?

At that price, it's probably worth the money and effort to strip it down and rebuild it top-->bottom and have it make sweet, sweet love to your engine bay.

Well just as long as no one is offended when I sell the motor here in two months.I think I will pick it up. I also have a set of M50 Engine mounts and arms as well as a whole other M50 engine to pull parts off. My dad had to put a rebuilt M50 in my moms convertable so I told him to hold onto that engine as all that was wrong with it was a dead lifter. With these two engines complete short of the Alt and PS pump what do you guys think I will spend putting the S50 in my E30.

You will spend however much you want to spend. You could do the swap for $400 if you're resourceful, or $4000 if you're like me.Comment
