replacing a m50 head gasket

Is it possable to replace a m50 head gasket with out removing the engine from the car?

Has anyone tried this, I just finished my swap and now need to replace the head gasket that I didn't know was blown. Is there no way to leave the engine in the car. I know you can replace it in a e36 without taking the engine out.
