    S50 Flywheel on a Factory E30 Transmission?

I just found out that the S50 engine I purchased has a flywheel that is in excellent condition. I understand that the S50 flywheel is larger and may be a better choice. Is it possible to keep the larger flywheel or is it to large to fit in the bellhousing? I really like my factory trans and it shifts like butter so I dont want to replace it. Any advice is much appreceiated.

Search. I am using an 8lb flywheel. Revving is great with it.

            yes it will

a friend of mine used the flywheel from a euro 323i, revs are so light

flywheel matched with the appropriate clutch set

Matched with the appropriate throwout bearing and clutch slave cylinder.

The answer is yes, it will fit inside the bellhousing.

I was about to post this question aswell, sort of.

I am running a S50 and want to run an E30 260 trans. Which flywheel and clutch will best fit my application, something that needs no modification.

Im using an M20 shaved flywheel and clutch with my M50/E36 box with no problems, standard E36 slave and release bearing.
The clutch was used and ive done over 10,000 miles with it so far
