Don't you have mods on the motor? Maybe go back to stock injectors and chip if you haven't already.

Good info, thanks all. I was worried I'd have to register my swapped E30 to my mother-in-law in Wyoming!

          What about FI in CA?
If you get your car reffed and add a SC or a turbo later, do you think any smog geeks would notice?

THey will notice, but as long as it is a CARB kit, you should be fine.

So besides DINAN, who makes a CARB legal SC for an S52?

Thanks man Todd and Jean! Although I always had plates, I just had to get the little Green 2007 sticker :)

Brian, if RMS is still around, their kits might be CARB. I believe Eurosport is also trying to get their kit to be CARB.

I smogged my car earlier this week. It is a '90 325i in great mechanical condition (new plugs, wires, cap, rotor) but is chipped, and the really cool tech had to run it 2-3 times in order to get it to pass. That was WITH ethanol, so if you have your car chipped, I'd reccomend taking it out, or finding a cool tech.
