Instructions for putting together an s50/your suggestions

    Hey guys,
I am probably going to purchase a bare s50 block. I am going to have it honed and bored to a 3.2. Really after that I dont' know what to do/get/purchase first. This is going to take ALONG time to do, not planning on having it done any time soon so I want it to be the nastiest, most badass s50. So is there anything you can recommend and is there some kind of, manual (bentley) that does step by step engine assembly?

Also please list what you think would be the best setup with the motor. Include anything from the smallest to the largest things. I want don't care if it takes 8 years to do, I want it to come out fuckin amazing.

This thread is going to be what my motor is based on so please give your best products and advice. Also please share what I have to pay attention such as things for fitment and maybe things that could save me alittle money.

    Thanks
    DJ

Schricks, Solid Lifter Conversion, Port/Polish, larger valves, 5 angle valve grind, High comp pistons, dry sump setup (or accusump), the usual.

^^ always wondered why bother with changing pistons when you can just shave the head or use thinner gasket.
      anyone got answer to this?

          Haha.

You can usually shave the head a tad, but it all depends on how much piston-to-valve clearance is built into the engine / pistons. Higher compression pistons usually have deeper valve pockets in order to compensate for the increased compression.

I have heard of and seen 3.4/3.5L strokers from s5x combos. Then you could really get some power.

Can't "bore" a 3.0 to 3.2L specifications. No boring is necessary; with a 3.2L crankshaft, you can mill the 3.0 pistons to stay at 3.2L but have a higher c/r. Stock cams have proven 250whp with this setup. : )
