Guys, I am so close to finishing my m52 swap and obd1 conversion. I have encountered a hurdle. How the hell do you handle the Crank sensor install? I have no idea how to do this and have found no info anywhere. The OBD2 sensor wire points away from the engine while the obd1 points the opposite direction. What do i need to do?

Uhh....You use an OBD1 crank sensor, and since you are using an OBD1 harness (riiighhhttt?).Guys, I am so close to finishing my m52 swap and obd1 conversion. I have encountered a hurdle. They work fine together. -

huh? The wire runs real tight up the side of the water pump pulley, goes through a plastic bracket that holds it there, and then towards the wiring underneath the intake manifold.Comment

your obdII engine willhave a sensorunder the starter... leave is there to block the hole but its not going to be used.
The OBDI sensor for crank position goes on the 2 little stick outs above the harmonic balancer on the timing cover. The wire for this runs up the timing cover and over the top of the thermstat housing and is held there by a special bracket that you need to get (the obdII engine wont have one). It then runs parallel to the cam pos sensor all the way to where it plugs into the harness right next to the cam pos sensor on the lowest part of the harness bracket.
hope this helps... its as specific as i could gete30sport.net
