m/s50 swap question...

hi folks, new to r3v been on bimmerforums and e30tech for a few years...got that outa the way.
been reading the extensive thread on DOHC swaps and my brain is full. my question is....m/s50's have self contained wiring harness's so i'm told, treehouse racing sells a gang plug that "plug and play's". i'm wondering if i would simply have to connect all the sensors and what not on the motor bolt it up and plug in the engine to chassis plug and i'm all good. is there something i'm missing? please advise..

im not sure what you question is exactily... if you want to try to plug the e36 harness into your e30... that wont work

if you want to do it using the treehouse adapter then it will work

your best bet is to take your harness and modify it yourself... find out what the pins do on your e30 harness and match those pins to the e36 harness(not by number... by function) then remove the unneeded wires from the e36 harness to make it neat.

my question is/was, if i use the treehouse adapter, is there any other wiring that needs to be done?

You may need to do some additional wiring to get the E34 oil level sender to work with the check panel and if you are using an E36 transmission, and you may need to wire in the backup lights, as these lights are integrated into the E36 harness.

I would call Treehouse and ask them this same question.
