But wont that throw the shaft off centre? Not 100% but I seem to remember the bearing being offset slightly?

Yes the bearing is offset, but I'm not sure if it will create problems. This exact combination has been run before, and to the best of my knowledge no one has yet experienced premature driveshaft failure.
