    iX booster Q.

now before you tell me to go search the DOHC thread, ive just ran into a lil problem with my iX booster ive installed today. the vaccum hole that goes from the booster to the manifold is on the wrong side(closer to the fuse box) when i install the booster right side up (the stickers on top). the hole is now stuck between the booster and the shock tower so i cannot fit the hose fitting into it. now if i turn it upside down the hole is in the right place but the stickers are upside down.....hope u understand this so far...so i was wondering if it would be okay to run the booster like that or i should pulll it out.

I installed a ix booster in my 91 318is, installed it with the sticker up.
Clearance is tight, attempt installing it with the vacuum hose in place.

That is how I did mine. It is very very tight, with a slight bend. Does not leak however.

Not sure about how these suckers are designed, but I would advise against installing it upside down.

You shouldn't have any issues installing it so the vacuum port is on the other side. It's basically a vacuum supported membrane that the M/C piston works against, orientation shouldn't matter.

Agreed it shouldn't matter if its upside down - just on Girlings the MC bolts aren't vertical so you need to maintain their orientation so that the MC isn't upside down or something.

My 325ix has it vacuum port on the engine side - I'm positive its "right side up" since the top still has the mark from the brake fluid level wiring clip.

hmmm thats good to know. this morning i squished the tubing in and it fits alright but its really squished but there should be any vaccum leaks hopefully....if there is any idling/rough running issues i'll just pull the booster and filp it so the hole is on the engine side.
