For any of you without CC or ABS

MY golly there are a lot of fooking wires going to and out of these two units. Do any of these wires do anything but control the ABS and Cruise control?
Can I cut all the wires off and call it a day....of course I'd seel the ends....
    Thanks in advance.

Just ridding the car of these two things would produce one hell of a clean engine bay.
Track car anyways so I don't need or want either of them.
I'll be doing some research on this as well I just need some help determining if I'm going to be making a big mistake.

I've removed the complete cruise control from my e30 and two others. That includes all wires, CC module above glovebox, brake pedal switch, stalk on steering column, everything...
I didn't cut any wires either. It wasn't too hard.

I haven't touched the ABS though. I kind of like it.

My only advice to you is that if you're going to do it, do it right. Don't just chop off the wires and leave them there. You should completely remove every piece related to it.

Yeah you're right. But for now I just need some more space to work. And I'm getting tired of having to move that ABS unit all the time.

So everything going to those two units should be only for controling those units...in the engine bay anyways??

The car is going to be a shell with a roll bar anyways. I don't need all the confusing wiring on the inside either.

        josh,

the units and wiring loom are independant, so taking out all the wirings, sensors related to it won't be so difficult, you could sell those parts on R3V or ebay, i would be interested in the CC parts of course!

only hard thing about the ABS are the brake hardlines, if you do remove the ABS pump, you will need to run new hard ines or use a donor non-ABS car brake hardlines, to finish off, you will need to get a T joint to split the front lines after the master cylinder, unless you find a non-ABS master cylinder

I expected to have to run the hard lines from the MC. Considering they all went to the ABS pump.
Honestly you can have the CC. I don't even know if it works. I got the car as a shell with the CC in the car. Send shipping and you can have it.
Thanks for answering the question on the two systems!

thanks josh, i will take up your offer and appreciate it alot!

for the ABS wiring, its abit more complicated due to the wheel sensors as it runs from the ecu directly to the connectors nearer to the wheel sensors

for the fronts, it runs from under the fusebox, stops at the front left, another loom goes across the front bumper behind the headlights and connects to the front right sensor

the rear wheel sensor wiring goes under the carpet, ends up under the seats and there's where it connects to the rear sensors left and right

the abs pump wiring attaches to the main loom that goes into the ecu, so to get a clean remove, you need to remove the main loom

            you could do 2 things
            1. cut the abs wheel sensor wires nearer to the abs ecu, and yank the main loom out
            2. open the abs ecu connector, carefully take out the wheel sensor terminal , attach the connector back. then pull the wheel sensor wires out , and attach it back to the connector and you have a nice abs wiring loom that you could sell on ebay
