Piece of advice for all you m50'ers....

Save every bolt, clip, retainer and anything you can from your donner car.
I made the mistake of removing everything without taking pictures even though I told myself to. Now I'm missing stupid shit for the swap and have to go buy things like banjo bolts, and miscilanious bolts and holders and such.
I'm one of the rare swaps that was stripped down to replace every seal in the motor, now I'm scrapping for pictures of certain areas.
Anyways, take pictures and save EVERYTHING!
Thank god (not really) to Realoem....

Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

What you said goes with any swap or repair.

If you are doing things first time, it's not stupid to take pictures, write down thing or even draw.

Imagine situation that you have 2 bolts, other is like 5mm longer than other and you put storage them in same place... putting 5mm short bolt to somewhere is no big deal, but lets imagine that you put 5mm too long bolt to say e.g. brake caliper nad your wheel will not spin.

I personaly have put tierod end nuts to motor mount with ait tools, as you can imagine, mount will be ruined, and guess how you will feel when you discover that there is not suitable tierod nut anywhere...

Haha, I can relate. Now I have paint cans full of different types of nuts and bolts.

first motor project I did on a Jeep I took everything off, labeled it, put it in bags, and took pictures.

when i did the timing belt on the e30 i just rocked out with my cock out in a few hours. didnt label chit. if i was pulling the motor I definitely would have labeled stuff but just the timing belt was easy to put back together.

i saved everything on my rebuild but when it was time to assemble that certain component, i started running out of bolts. then after buying new bolts and finishing... i started finding extra shit everywhere.

my advice from that was stay organized and label/pictures if the project is going to take some time
