Does the chain tensioner in the head between the cams have a spring in it? Mine does not and I'm not sure if I lost it or it never had one, its part number 7 on the link, thanks the engine is a m50 by the way.

Yes it should. It sould be pushing up.
It might be broken. The spring for that tensioner can't be bought sepperately.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

Think I could start the engine with out the spring in place? It will still be under tension from the oil pressure.Comment
