    Finally!

The 318 is finally on the road after an entire year of working outside in an ally next to my house. It runs great, much better then it did when I first started it up with the blown head gasket. Now all I need to do is replace the 318 clutch which is already fried, the 240 transmission did work though unlike popular belief.

whats with all these long swaps? lol..

-etasport with the 2 day running m50 swap.

I bet your happy now. I love driving my car so much now with the better engine. The old eta was good for what it was but doesnt compare to the m50 at all, and its all stock. Let the modding begin.

First swap we did took about 3 months. About 7 days after dropping the motor in it was in a condition to crank, but it took a long time from when we pulled the m20 til the m50 actually fired up.

s50 Car sometimes Idle is not steady, but with o2 sensor disconnected.

                  Hi guys, need your inputs:

With the o2 sensor connected the car sometimes would have an irregular idle when car is at a complete stop, sometimes it would stall.

No problems when you put load...

Upon disconnecting the o2 sensor, the idle is rock solid and does not stall.

Car has no vac leaks & ICV cleaned.

o2 sensor is brand new - could it be a defective sensor?
                  Car has no cat anymore.

                  Thanks

I've seen a similar situation on an s50 powered e30. Other symptoms were poor fuel milage, and seemingly decreased power. I suspect that some people have a wiring problem with the c101 where they are backfeeding a 12 volt signal that is interfering with the o2 sensor signal. It was discussed briefly in a thread about the c101 adaptor. The thread was originally started by the fast one! and this info was towards the last page.

could it be that on the c101 (pin 6) where the o2 relay (12v feed) is being connected to something that doesn't necessarily need to be connected to (like for the diagnostic plug on an e34 wiring harness)?
