    Corvette 327 Anyone?

    Hey guys,
Just recieved a free motor from my dad. Its an old Corvette 327 we had laying around and I told him that I want to build it up and put it in my car..he just laughed. Anyways I am starting to rebuild it and I will definately have pics up soon. I can't wait to get her out on the road. I hope she fits, Anyone know or think it will fit?

    Thanks
    DJ

People have put V12s and LS1's in e30s, it's doable, as long as you can fabricate all the mounts/driveshafts etc

Why rebuild? You are gonna be breaking so many parts anyway, just clean it, do new pan gaskets, front and rear mainseals, new "umbrella style" valve guide seals, put an Edelbrock carb on a performer RPM manifold, shorty blockhugger headers and most important, a T5 tranny in that there E30...

And buy a BUNCH of tires. Maybe some 275/60/15's?

Gonna do a straight axle conversion? That would be fun as hell on the strip.

            Pic, man!

Actually I just got off the phone with my dad. It is an L84 327 small block. It was out of a 1964 corvette which produced 375hp. I thought it ws the L79 but I guess not.

Why would I do that? I think the vert could be a monster with a V8. haha..I don't know we will see but I would like to have a unique convertible.

you will twist a vert into a pretzle. L84's were 350's in the late 70's early 80's emission an early eletronic injection motors if I remember right.

I will go look it up

Hey I was wrong the L84 was the 62-64 327, I forgot about the High HP SB pre 65. If you have the 375 its the fuel injected version. Do you still have all the orginal mechanical injection shit for it, that shit is worth a mint now.

With second-generation Rochester fuel injection, larger 2.02-inch diameter intake valves and an aggressive new camshaft profile, the 1964 L84 produced 375 gross horsepower in factory trim. A Holley four-barrel carburetor appeared on a factory small-block for the first time, producing only ten less horsepower than the fuel-injected version.

Well we didn't have a car to put it in so I ending up getting it...Darn haha. Dad restores corvettes and I try to help but he makes sure the numbers match so no car for number matching so I guess I will have to get used to the numbers not matching with mine, I think I can get over it.
