why is this such the new internet hotness?
      Better Braking?
I propose a challenge. Some one come to The Dragon in June, and we will see how much shorter I can out-brake you if you are running that setup.
On top of that, the e21 booster only requires that you cut and weld the shaft. Hell, you can even get the e30 reservior from and e30 w/o ABS, and have the clearance to plug the TPS in (or the intake air temp on early non-vanos motors). None of this remote routing, spacing the motor, spending money for a 25mm mc, etc etc. If you dont like the stiff pedal (some of you guys are forgetting that you can change the pedal location so its flush with the accel pedal), you can always run a vaccuum canister and get stock brake feel for an additional (GASP) 30 dollars. This whole IX booster thing is bred from lack of experience, and some form of internet bullshit.
Every 3rd thread in this section is full of half truths.

I think something that hasn't been mentioned with these setups is what car they are in so as to compare caliper size. I'm not sure, I'm guessing, but I would bet that a 325e or 325i/s has bigger calipers than a 318. So while someone can use an e21 booster on a 325 and be fine, vice versa on a 318 it might not be as well off. I know my e21 booster felt like doo-doo when I stepped on it and my car just doesn't brake. I'd say go with the e21 booster first then if that doesn't work find another option. Nothing is garunteed.

Modifying the E21 booster really isn't hard. I've never used a tap and die before, and it took less than an hour...no welding required.
